rooted as one

My name is Carola Mehltretter and I am traveling around the world visiting churches and christians from as many different backgrounds as possible. I firmly believe that despite and with all our differences, we are called to be one. And how can we be one if we don't know that much about each other? This is hopefully where I can contribute something with my YouTube channel "Rooted as One".

 

I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. -John 17,22-23

 

I started my channel with a one year long e-bike trip around Europe visiting Germany (where I'm from), Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, England, Spain and Portugal. During this trip I grew so much in my relationship with God but more than that I found community and deep connections with christians everywhere I went. When I came back home from this trip in March of 2024 I decided that this was not the end but only the beginning.

 

So as of now I am continuing my travels -just not by bike anymore. But this opens up a whole new world of opportunities, because I am now hopefully able to also travel outside of Europe to meet Christians and explore christian projects and churches there.

My Vision

I would like to see a greater awareness in our Christian world that all Christians are part of a community that belongs together. If we stand up for each other internally, pray for each other and have conversations at eye-level, I believe that we can best embody the message of Jesus' love. This does not mean that we have to agree on everything, but we can respect and try to support one another.

 

This starts with an awareness of who the people in our community are! My goal is to use  social media to create a digital picture of the Christian world. It is impossible to create a complete picture of the Christian world, but I think when we can relate one name and face to a different Christian group or denomination, it is easier for us to feel the connection that in reality already ties all of us together. I hope that the platform I am building can also become a marketing platform to point to many great Christian projects.
